Okay, there is some info out there but lots of it conflicting and confusing.
I understand housing can only be built in specific places. I understand you need the permission of the clan who owns the city to build there. I also understand there are remote areas where 1 person can build a house which will have a few ancillery buildings. I understand cities are destroyable and I assume housing inside it?
WHat I don't know is, can 1 person just build 1 house somewhere and nothing else and is that destoyable?
As crafters I believe that we can't have our own place unless it's in a player city as we wouldn't be able to defend it and even then it's till possible to lose it if the clan loses the city?
Anyone read things differently?

I don't think cities are completely destructible. I believe I've read that most player-controllable cities will be ruins already which can be repaired and then used by clans etc. I believe you can have houses outside of cities, though you raise a good point about defending it... Though I'm not too privy to all the fine details about this...

What the developers have said has been rather confusing (especially if you throw in Gianna's reviews). I understand that you CAN build ONE house somewhere out in the wild, given that the location permits building (ruins or hamlet stones, don't know) but it WILL be destroyable. I might be wrong, but that's how I understand it.

thats how i understand it as well.. can build something that is destroyable.. well more repair then build but same concept.
I really like that idea that was my biggest gripe with the ffa pvp in vanguard and well every other game since shadowbane. I can build this huge city or castle or whathave you.. but people cant seige and destroy it.. Whats the point in going back to housing to defend it when it gets attacked, if its not able to be lossed.. log out 20 minutes, get some food, play with the dog, look at the sun/moon/clouds IRL.. log back in greefers got boored and left.
Here we can loose what we build, so it will be more important to recall to defend.

I wish there was more info I agree with you. I want exactly that but fear it will be destroyed or taken over! Can't we just live in peace??? haha. I guess you will have to find your house in a well-managed player-controlled region! Just hope the taxes aren't too bad! Lady Si'aan Anoura.

Our tax rate will not be insane.. ..But you would be required to defend the hamlet or city should it come under attack. more then likely by swinging a weapon yourself or possiblly supplying arms and armor for us to do so.

Hmm... anyone else smell the potential for future realtor guilds? Claim a desirable swath of land, construct any necessary amenities, contract guards and mercenaries for protection - and there you have it! Residences for rent. I promise you now, though, anyone who dares talk to me about the opportunities of owning an Agon timeshare - you'll find your in this world cut very short...
