Is the DMA PMing those that are interested in crafting on the DF forums? If not I would highly suggest this method of getting the word out there and getting more members.
LEV searches the forums for those who seem to have traits that we value and we PM them with information about our guild.
This has gotten us the majority of our members and I do believe it would work well for the DMA too if it is not being done already.

Yep ... that's been the basic practice.
I'd be a little concerned if every one took it upon themselves to PM by sifting the forums, a lot of folks would get SPAM'd with PM's but probably not worth worrying about since it's too hard to coordinate. I've tried to make sure to double check the latest membership list here before sending them.
If we can get just a bit bigger simple word of mouth will kick in (ie tell folks you know).
Signatures with links work well too ... I don't believe Recneps has expressed any issue with doing that (in fact his sig has a link to here).
Thorsen Belthize edit: Just reread my post ... If it sounds like I'm discouraging others from PM'ing that wasn't my intention ...

Indeed. I believe Thorsen is doing the most in the forums towards contacting individuals who may be interested. I have been scouring the Clan Recruitment pages to find clans that 'appear' they may be open to our concept here, visiting their home forums and making a statement there; much as I did with the LEV Though everyone is welcome to recruit whomever they see fit. I know there's a few of us working pretty hard in the background to make this Association grow, but hopefully, as Belthize says, we'll be able to work a little less as word of mouth kicks in.

Oh there is no doubt that word of mouth will indeed spread word of the DMA's existence, but I feel like that won't happen much until players actually require the services provided in game *and LEV keeps track of everyone they PM as well so as not to spam

Personally, I'm not too worried about lack of growth or membership numbers here... These fine forums seem to be growing, daily - Kudos to you all for being such great folks I'd be wary about everyone/anybody just 'randomly' PM'ing people on ForumFall etc. as it may just happen a few PM at same time and this looks bad, or the wrong, nasty type might get PM'd and come here and cause trouble and start griefing threads about a place full of 'gold-rich victims', fresh meat for them all. The subtle links in sigs seem to work well and attract those with an interest and a minimum of awareness or observation skills. A few key people to PM worthy persons might work too and I'm imagine is already happening.. Overt and conspicuous threads or methods of advertising or recruitment may just cause more problems than it solves atm? My gold penny worth.

No problem at all with a sig advertisement. Hell, steal mine off of the official forums if you'd like. It looks as though we'll be merging with Dfcrafters in the near future as soon as a few things are worked out. That should give us a even greater appeal to tradesmen as the info database grows on the site in the future. Not to sound like aventurine but. . . . more info is coming, soon. Recneps

Yes, indeed - good to have less overlap of communities.. more contact between us all with less typing required Will we be keeping the DMA name? Will the boards stay here or there? Though I've only recently become active here, I'm loving this community and the boards are nice and active and speedy and efficent too. I hope things don't change too much as I like it here (prefer it to DFCrafters concept/atmosphere really, tbh) Anyway = well done and congrats for the merge! Let's hope it all goes well as there's such strong potential here.

Sounds like good news indeed ! I look forward to hearing more about the merge. If you happen to need any help on the coding side of things, just give a shout.

Great news Recneps ... glad you and Pylor are going to be able to work out an arrangement. United we stand and all that ... Thorsen Belthize Agreed. The more the merrier, and the more we have coordinating the website layout and management the more efficiently it will run I hope! To re-address the OT here, if anyone knows of any Ork- or Alfar-oriented clans that they think would be open to the Association (like, who aren't all RPKers and want to pwn crafters etc), could you please let me know? Or feel free to contact them with an invitation to us? I have been trying quite a bit for the past few days to find and offer invitations to a few more Orks and Alfar to join our ranks - I think the more balanced we are racially the more stable our Association will be too... Especially when it comes to being able to trade racially-specific items, but also for access to certain areas in-game too. Lady Si'aan Anoura.
