I'd like to encourage visitors to register. The DMA is fundamentally a discussion forum. Registering doesn't necessarily imply an interest in joining a clan, a trade union, an association or anything, it just expresses an interest in discussing or reading about all things 'merchant' (crafting, harvesting, merc, money lender etc).
There's no rule about names that I'm aware of, you're not required to use your DF or in game name (though I'd encourage it).
For DMA to be successful it needs activity and membership. Even if you don't intend to post, membership visibility will encourage more members, and therefore more content for you to read.
Things like age, email addr, PM's, sex (btw need more options than Much and Few there Recneps) etc, can all be turned off if you want to remain anonymous.
